Hart’s appointment Tuesday morning fills the District 3 seat vacated last July when John Curran was named to the Illinois State Senate.
“What I bring to the board, in terms of value, is my business experience,” Hart said. “I’ve been involved as a volunteer in a number of civic efforts, served on the board of a charter school on the south side of Chicago and been involved in local government. I’m looking forward to applying my experience built in the private sector of business to this role.”
“Greg’s focus in the private sector has been on improvement, innovation and efficiency, the hallmarks of our county’s Accountability, Consolidation, Transparency Initiative,” DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin said. “Greg has a passion for public service and a desire to be an advocate for the residents of District 3.”
Hart was already campaigning for election to a full 4-year term of office. He was appointed to a term that ends Nov. 30, 2018.
“I’m circulating petitions right now,” Hart said.
“Given the success that chairman Cronin and the rest of the board members have had over the last few years in streamlining the operations here in DuPage County, I’m hoping to work with all of them to build upon the success they’ve already achieved,” Hart said.
DuPage County’s 3rd District includes parts of Bolingbrook, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Lemont, Naperville, Westmont, Willowbrook and Woodridge.
