Burr Ridge resident fills DuPage County Board vacancy

Burr Ridge resident Greg Hart is the newest member of the DuPage County Board.

The board on Sept. 12 approved Chairman Dan Cronin’s appointment of Hart to fill the vacant District 3 seat created in July when John Curran was appointed to the Illinois Senate. Hart’s term will expire Nov. 30, 2018.

Hart has been successful through his work in the private sector, engaging stakeholders, finding and aligning people around a common solution, and measuring results, Cronin said in a county news release. He added Hart will bring a unique perspective to the issues facing DuPage County.

“Greg’s focus in the private sector has focused on improvement, innovation and efficiency, the hallmarks of our county’s accountability, consolidation, transparency initiative,” Cronin said. “Greg has a passion for public service and a desire to be an advocate for the residents of District 3.”

Hart is a manager at Deloitte Consulting in Chicago. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Institutional Advancement Committee at Fenwick High School, and he is the Chicago co-chairman of Maverick PAC, an organization dedicated to driving young professionals to the political process through fundraising and events, according to its website.

District 3 includes parts of Downers Grove, Westmont, Naperville, Burr Ridge, Hinsdale, Woodridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Willowbrook, Bolingbrook and Lemont.
